EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern, in conjunction with Web site host CBS College Sports, will unveil a brand new, redesigned NUsports.com tomorrow, Tuesday, July 15.
The new NUsports.com will present a much cleaner look, consolidating site navigation and upgrading many of the site's internal pages. While the main redesign will launch Tuesday, internal updates will continue throughout the summer and fall months.
Following is a quick look at some of the highlights coming in the new NUsports.com:
Marketing and promotions will have a much more prominent presence on the site, making it easier to learn about what great events and deals are coming up. Under the main headlines of the day on the front page will be a four-story "promotions block" where this information can be found.
Ticket buttons will be prominently featured throughout the site, alerting fans about upcoming sale dates (such as single-game football tickets, on sale July 21!). The internal ticket page also has undergone a facelift.
The right-hand column throughout NUsports.com now is a one-stop shop for all Wildcat fans. All-Access video is located here along with a link to the NUsports.com Official Store. Also in this column is a link to Northwestern Auctions and to Pictopia -- where fans can purchase images of Wildcats in action. Photos will be available after all home and away football games, all home men's basketball games, many home women's basketball games and select other events throughout the year.
A new "Fan Zone" tab has been established in the main navigation bar. Here fans can complete a post-event feedback survey, locate the camp directory, read about the Wildcats in the community, find promotions information, send a Northwestern FANcard and much, much more.
Links to individual sport pages now will be found under the "Sports" tab in the main navigation bar. Direct links to sport schedule pages are found right next door under "Schedules."
Under the "Athletics" tab, fans will find a brand new facilities page where information on all of NU's venues can be found along with directions to both the Ryan Field and Lakeside athletic complexes. A new "In Memoriam" page will honor former members of the Wildcat family who have recently passed on by allowing obituary submissions.
Hilton Garden Inn will begin sponsoring an additional Athlete of the Week, this one being recognized for work in the community.
In addition to the main redesign, NUsports.com also recently launched a mobile version of the Web site for easy browsing on your mobile device.
CBS College Sports (formerly CSTV) is the leader in collegiate Web site hosting, providing more than 215 official athletic sites for colleges and universities around the nation. In the spring, Northwestern extended its relationship with CBS College Sports, which is providing this redesign as a part of that agreement.
