EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern had two student-athletes selected to the ITA Division I Women's All-America team this weekend. It marks the fifth-consecutive year that at least two Wildcats have earned the annual recognition.

A student athlete can be selected to the All-America team for their performance in singles, doubles or both. This year, junior Georgia Rose (Mettawa, Ill./North Shore Country Day) and freshman Maria Mosolova (Moscow, Russia/No. 204) each were selected for their success in singles play this season. In order to qualify for the singles All-America, the participant must earn a top 16 seed in NCAA Singles Championship, reach the round of 16 in NCAA Singles Championship or finish in the top 20 of the final ITA Rankings.

Rose, who earns her second consecutive All-America honor, finished the year ranked No. 14 nationally in the ITA singles poll. She also competed as a top 16 seed in this year's NCAA singles championship. Rose posted another impressive performance this season, notching 35 wins in singles overall. She has 99 career wins dating to her freshman campaign. Last year, Rose earned a spot on the All-America team for her doubles performance with former Wildcat, Alexis Prousis.

Mosolova, who joined the Wildcat program as a true freshman this season, earns yet another honor adding to her already impressive resume. She finished the season ranked No. 7 in the ITA singles poll and competed as the No. 4 overall seed at the NCAA singles championships, where she reached the quarterfinal round. The ITA National Player to Watch and Midwest Region Player of the Year was the lone Wildcat to post 40-plus singles victories this season. Mosolova's .872 winning percentage also was a team high for 2007-08.

The ITA National Players of the Year and ITA National Doubles Teams of the Year will be announced later this week. The ITA All-America Teams for all divisions are currently available on the ITA website.
