EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Eric Jokisch (Virginia, Ill./Virginia) of baseball and Hilary Bowen (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) of women's lacrosse as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Jokisch tossed his first career shutout in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday as the Wildcats posted a 2-0 win at No. 17 Michigan. The victory was the eighth of the season for Jokisch, raising his school freshman record.

The win was his seventh in Big Ten play as he finished tops in the league in wins in conference games. The total marks the most by a true freshman in Big Ten history. It was the first time this season that Michigan had been shut out and the first time they had been blanked at home in 64 games.

Bowen recorded three goals and two assists in Northwestern's 18-11 victory over Princeton last weekend in the NCAA quarterfinals. Bowen's three goals bumped her season total to 72--the second-best single-season output in NU history. Bowen has scored a goal in 38-straight games and has notched at least a point in 42-straight games.
