
Ohio State's Second-Half Run Tops Wildcats

EVANSTON, Ill. - Craig Moore scored 15 points and had five assists, but a second-half run by Ohio State helped it earn a 65-47 victory at Welsh-Ryan Arena Wednesday night.
Kosta Koufos scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Othello Hunter added 14 points for the Buckeyes (17-8, 8-4).
The teams battled back and forth throughout the first half with Ohio State going up 16-10 on a 3-pointer by Jamar Butler. However, the Wildcats answered right back as Craig Moore's jumper capped a 9-2 run and gave Northwestern a 19-18 advantage with nine minutes left before the break.
Ohio State would reclaim a seven-point advantage late in the half before Moore nailed a trey with five seconds left to cut the Buckeyes' lead to 29-25 going into the intermission.
The Wildcats were within 35-34 before Ohio State made its move.
Hunter started the decisive run with a basket down low and a dunk that turned a one-point lead into a 39-34 advantage with 12:40 left. Jon Diebler scored six of his nine points during that stretch, including a 3-pointer that made it 54-38 with just over five minutes remaining.
Jeremy Nash continued his solid play for Northwestern, scoring nine points, grabbing eight rebounds and nabbing three of the Wildcats' 14 steals. Michael Thompson contributed 12 points for NU.
The Wildcats return to action at 3 p.m. Saturday when they host Big Ten leader Purdue at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
