Landfall Tradition - First Round Results
WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Northwestern sits in fifth-place after the first 18 holes of the seventh-annual Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. The Wildcats shot a 27-over 315 through the first round and enters the second day with a three stroke lead over sixth-place East Carolina.
Sophomore Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) continues to be the constant for Northwestern, shooting a season-best 2-over 74 on the day and is currently in a five-way tie for third-place. Lindenschmidt had four birdies on the day and leads teammates Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) and Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy) by six strokes after the pair put together rounds of 8-over 80. Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) sits at 9-over after shooting an 81 on the day, with Innapha Tantanavivat (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy) rounding out the Wildcat scorecard with a 14-over 86.
Northwestern enters the second round eight strokes behind fourth-place Florida after the Gators tallied a 19-over 317 on the day. Defending champion Wake Forest sits at 9-over (297) and holds a six-stroke advantage on second-place Ohio State (15-over, 303) and is eight shots better than North Carolina (17-over, 305). The Wildcats have a log jam of teams on their heels as East Carolina, UNC-Wilmington, Michigan, North Carolina State and Tulsa are all within seven strokes.
Second round action gets underway at the Country Club of Landfall at 8:17 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, with the final round teeing off at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26. Live online scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
