Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Fordham Invite

Evanston, Ill.-- In the Fordham Invite, Northwestern finished fourth place out of 25 teams and was once again led by junior Carly Brown (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead), who finished eighth overall on Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park, N.Y.
The Wildcats' score of 121 was just three points behind DePaul for third and trailed Penn and Princeton, which won the race.
Brown finished with a time of 18:46 and was closely followed by senior Celia Franklin (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier), who placed 21st overall with a time of 19:34 in the 5k race.
In addition to Brown and Franklin, four more Wildcats finished the race in the top 50 overall, led by Paulina Garcia (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood), Britta Helwig (Chicago, Ill./Luther North), Marie Grabinski (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) and freshman Maddie Rozwat (Hillsborough, Calif./Crystal Springs Uplands).
Megan Young (Rochester Hills, Mich./Detroit County Day) and Marcellee Fullwood (Houston, Texas/Cypress Falls) rounded out the top 100 with times of 21:28 and 21:32, respectively.
NU's next race is on Friday at the Illinois Intercollegiates in Normal, Ill.
