EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named C.J. Bachér (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit) of football and Amanda Care (Newtown, Pa./Pennsbury) of field hockey as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Bachér threw for one touchdown and ran for another in Northwestern's 27-0 win over Northeastern on Saturday. Bachér made his sixth-career start last Saturday, and for the sixth-straight game, passed for 200-plus yards. Bachér completed a career-best 23 passes (out of 29 attempts) for 243 yards and a touchdown. It was also his second-straight game without an interception. Bachér, who opened the game by completing his first seven attempts, threw passes to seven different receivers, with six of the seven catching two or more passes.

Care scored the game-winning goal 23 seconds into overtime in the field hockey team's 2-1 victory over Northeastern. The shot was Care's first and only of the 2007 and it was her first goal since her freshman year. In the team's loss to Maryland, Care made a spectacular defensive save, which prevented the Terrapins from adding another goal on the board.
