EVANSTON, Ill.-- Northwestern has named Piero Bellizzi (Rye, N.Y./Rye) of men's soccer and Kelsey Hans (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville) of women's soccer as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Bellizzi led the 10th-ranked men's soccer team to the title at the Northern Illinois University adidas/Baymont Inn Invitational last weekend by posting a team-high four points. The freshman midfielder contributed an assist in the team's 3-0 win over Butler Friday and then posted a goal and an assist as the Wildcats downed UMKC 3-0 Sunday. For his efforts, Bellizzi was named to the all-tournament team. He leads the team with four assists and ranks second on the squad with six points so far this season.

On Wednesday against Loyola (Chicago), Hans scored her 30th career goal to pass head coach Stephanie Erickson as the program's most prolific goal-scorer. The senior's tally at 46:01 broke a record that stood for more than 10 years. On Friday against Penn, Northwestern played the Quakers to a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes. Hans netted the lone goal to place her in sole possession of the all-time goals scored mark at NU and ups her career points total to 73, tying Erickson's all-time mark. Hans now has three goals on the year and eight total points, which ties her for first on the team.
