EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern announced the 2007-08 women's basketball schedule today, which is highlighted by the inaugural Big Ten/ACC Challenge and the addition of two more conference contests. New nonconference bouts with Dayton, New Mexico, Seton Hall and Marquette complement the annual rivalries against Chicagoland foes Loyola (Chicago), DePaul and Illinois-Chicago, giving the Wildcats a solid lineup.

The Wildcats usher in the new season on Nov. 9 against the Dayton Flyers at the WSF Classic in Albuquerque, N.M. Northwestern also will face regional foe Western Michigan and tournament host New Mexico on Nov. 10 and 11, respectively. The Wildcats return to the Windy City to face Illinois-Chicago on Nov. 14 before heading south to take on Georgia Tech on Nov. 21 in Atlanta.

Northwestern then digs in for a five-game homestand, highlighted by the Big Ten/ACC Challenge showdown against Wake Forest on Nov. 28. Prior to that, NU hosts Loyola (Chicago) on Nov. 25. Northwestern will once again host the 24th Annual Roger and Mildred L. White Invitational on Nov. 30-Dec. 1. The 'Cats will face Central Michigan in the second game of the Tournament on Friday, which follows a contest between Boston College and Wagner. Northwestern then hosts Big East member Seton Hall on Dec. 6.

A trip to Milwaukee to tangle with Marquette on Dec. 17 follows before rounding out the nonconference portion against crosstown-rival DePaul on Dec. 20 at Welsh-Ryan.

The Wildcats kick off the conference schedule when they hosts intrastate adversary Illinois on Dec. 27. Indiana also pays a visit to Evanston on New Year's Eve.

Northwestern travels to Michigan and Penn State on Jan. 6 and Jan 10., respectively, before hosting Ohio State on Jan. 13 and Michigan State on Jan. 17. The Wildcats hit a rough patch with four of their next six on the road, beginning with visits to Purdue (Jan. 20) and Wisconsin (Jan. 27) prior to welcoming Iowa (Jan. 31) and Purdue (Feb. 3) to Evanston.

The second half of the conference season begins on the road against Indiana (Feb. 7) and Minnesota (Feb. 10). The Wildcats host Michigan (Feb. 14) and Wisconsin (Feb. 18) before heading to Michigan State on Feb. 21. Penn State comes to Evanston on Feb. 24 before Northwestern goes to Iowa (Feb. 28) and to Ohio State (March 2).

The Big Ten Tournament will take place March 6-10 at Conseco Field House in Indianapolis, Ind.
