ATHENS, Ga. -- Senior Alexis Prousis (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest), sophomore Georgia Rose (Mettawa, Ill./North Shore Country Day) and freshman Samantha Murray (Altrincham, England/Altrincham Grammar) are set to take to the courts at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex for the NCAA singles and doubles championships. Rose and Murray will be in singles action at 8 a.m. CT Wednesday, while Rose and Prousis start Northwestern's quest for its second-straight NCAA doubles title on Thursday.

Prousis and Rose, the nation's ninth-ranked doubles team entering the tournament, face Georgia Tech's Amanda Craddock and Alison Silverio in Thursday's first round. A start time is still TBA.

Prousis, who was unseeded entering the 2006 tournament with former Wildcat Cristelle Grier when the pair won the doubles championship, is unseeded with Rose. The duo owns a 26-7 overall record and accounted for NU's lone doubles win against UCLA in the round of 16 in the team tournament.

The winner of the first-round match faces the winner of Pepperdine's Bianca Dulgheru and Sylvia Kosakowski and Georgia's 5-8-seeded Yvette Hyndman and Darya Ivanov in Friday's round of 16.

Rose, by virtue of her No. 13 national ranking entering the tournament, has already clinched All-America status. The Big Ten Player of the Year and ITA Midwest Region Player to Watch owns a 24-4 overall record and will face Mississippi's Ilona Somers at 8 a.m. CT Wednesday. The winner of the first-round match faces the winner of VCU's Tatsiana Uvarova and Harvard Beier Ko on Thursday.

Murray, the 2007 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and the ITA Midwest Region's Rookie Player of the Year, enters the tournament with a 29-12 record. Murray faces California's Zsuzsanna Fodor, who is a 9-16 seed, in the first round at 8 a.m. CT Wednesday.

The singles tournament starts Wednesday, May 23 and the finals are set for approximately 6 p.m. CT on Monday, May 28. Doubles play begins Thursday, May 24 and the finals are scheduled for approximately noon CT on Monday, May 28.
