EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Antonio Mule (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) of baseball and Alexis Prousis (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) of women's tennis its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Mule hit an outstanding .471 in Northwestern's five games last week. He started all five games and was 8-for-17 at the plate with two doubles and two triples.
He totaled 14 bases and drove in four runs. He was also walked a team-high five times, bringing his season walk total to 34. This is the first Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor of Mule's career.
Prousis won two singles and two doubles matches to help Northwestern reach the round of 16 for the fourth-straight year. Prousis took a three-setter to clinch NU's 4-0 win over Western Michigan in the first round and cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win in the Wildcats' second-round match against Indiana.
Prousis and partner Georgia Rose won both their matches at No. 1 doubles. This is the third Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor of Prousis' career.
