EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Willy Lock (Lima, Peru/Markham College) of men's tennis and Morgan Lathrop (Briarcliff, N.Y./The Hackley School) its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Lock won the clinching match in Northwestern's 5-2 win over Michigan State on Sunday. Lock, playing his last match in Evanston, won a dominating 6-2, 6-3 match over Alex Forger at No. 1 singles in the 'Cats regular-season finale.

He also partnered with fellow senior Matt Christian to win at No. 2 doubles. The senior is on a three-match singles winning streak heading into this weekend's Big Ten Championship. This is the second Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor of Lock's career.

Lathrop was outstanding last week for the Wildcats between the pipes, recording 25 saves in two games as top-ranked Northwestern defeated No. 2 Maryland and No. 13 Johns Hopkins. In the win over Maryland, she helped hold the Terps to seven goals, well below their 15 goal-per-game average.

On Friday, Lathrop made 11 saves against the Blue Jays and helped hold Mary Key, the nation's leading scorer, to one goal. This is the first Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor of Lathrop's career.
