EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Marc Dwyer (Peachtree City, Ga./University of Nebraska-Independent Study H.S.) of men's tennis and Kristen Kjellman (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) of women's lacrosse its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Dwyer earned a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles and won 8-4 with partner Alex Sanborn at No. 2 doubles in Northwestern's 5-2 win Friday over Purdue. Dwyer won a second-set tiebreaker to force a third set, but fell in a close match at No. 8 Illinois on Sunday. This is the first Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor of Dwyer's career.

Kjellman further solidified herself in the Northwestern record books on Friday against Syracuse as her three points made her Northwestern's all-time points leader with 290, breaking the old mark of 289 set in 1987.

She totaled nine points (6g, 3a) over the weekend, with two goals and one assist Friday and four goals and two dishes on Sunday against UConn. This is the ninth Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor of Kjellman's career.
