Results
HONOLULU -- Northwestern took all seven matches en route to a dominating win over Hawaii Friday night, 7-0. The Wildcats did not play a third set in any singles matches and only surrendered two games in doubles. The 'Cats take on fifth-ranked California at 5 p.m. Saturday.
No. 10 Northwestern improves to 9-3 while The Rainbow Wahine drop to 4-11. Northwestern took the doubles points with three doubles victories. Georgia Rose (Mettawa, Ill./North Shore Country Day) and Alexis Prousis (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) downed Kana Aikawa and Sophie Kobuch, 8-0, at No. 1.
At No. 2, freshman Lauren Lui (Houston, Texas/Kinkaid) and sophomore Keri Robison (Decatur, Ill./Keystone National) topped Chloe Bihag and Florence Wasko, 8-1.
Samantha Murray (Altrincham, England/Altrincham Grammar) and Alexis Conill (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) won their No. 3 doubles match over Samantha Cappella and Julia Sandborn, 8-1.
The Wildcats took all six singles matches with Rose downing Kobuch at No. 1, 6-2, 6-4. Murray won her match at No. 2 over Aikawa in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
At No. 3, Prousis topped Bihag, 6-1, 6-1, while Lui defeated Cappella at No. 4, 6-2, 6-2.
Suzie Matzenauer (Tacoma, Wash./Bellarmine) blanked Sandborn at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0, and Nazlie Ghazal (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral) cruised past Wasko at No. 6, 6-1, 6-0.
The Wildcats return to action against fifth-ranked Cal at 5 p.m. Saturday.
