EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named senior Tim Doyle (Merrick, N.Y./St. Dominic) of men's basketball and sophomore Sam Nemecek (Caledonia, Mich./Caledonia) of women's fencing its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Doyle enjoyed one of the best offensive weeks of his career, scoring 43 points on 15-of-19 shooting over two games. Against Purdue on Saturday, he scored a career-high 26 points -- 18 coming in the second half -- on 9-of-12 shooting from the field, hit 8-of-11 from the stripe and added five assists in 39 minutes.

In the win over Texas-Pan American, he scored 17 on 6-of-7 shooting and added four assists and played the entire 40 minutes. This is the second Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor of Doyle's career.

Nemecek helped Northwestern to a perfect 12-0 record at the NU Duals with wins over No. 9 Temple, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 1 Penn State.

Nemecek went 28-1 overall in the foil and captured the deciding point in the 'Cats' 14-13 wins over Notre Dame and top-ranked Penn State. This is the third Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor of Nemecek's career.
