EVANSTON, Ill.-- Northwestern has named Craig Moore (Doylestown, Pa./Lawrenceville (N.J.) Prep) of men's basketball and Sara Stutz (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) of women's basketball as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Moore carried the Wildcats to two victories last week with 44 combined points against Arkansas State and Western Michigan. The junior beat the halftime buzzer against ASU to knot the score at 34 after trailing for the entire half. He finished the game with 20 points, five assists and connected on six of his eight three-point attempts. Against WMU, Moore hit seven of 15 shots from the floor, including five three pointers. With under a minute remaining and the 'Cats up by two points, Moore sealed the win with a three, then made five-of-six free throws in the final 17 seconds.
Stutz logged 35 minutes against Seton Hall, contributing 12 of Northwestern's 51 points. The senior also chipped in with three assists and two rebounds, while hitting two back-to-back three pointers that put the Wildcats on top of the Pirates in the first half. Stutz finished the game 2-of-4 on threes, 2-of-2 from the free throw line and had three steals on the night.
