EVANSTON, Ill.-- W.I.N. Magazine has come out with its preseason rankings, placing Northwestern 11th in the nation coming into the 2007-08 season. In addition to the team rankings, the magazine also ranked the top 25 wrestlers at each weight class, which included five Wildcats.

"We expect to have multiple National Champions and All-Americans this season," coach Tim Cysewski said. Rankings are simply someone's opinion, but it is nice to be nationally recognized year-after-year."

At 125 lbs., sophomore Brandon Precin (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) holds a ranking of 15th after finishing the 2006-07 season at the NCAA Championships. Nick Hayes (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Lewis Central) is ranked 11th in the 174 lb. weight class and returning All-American Mike Tamillow (Oak Park, Ill./Fenwick) comes in at third in the 197 lb. weight class.

While Precin, Hayes and Tamillow are ranked in the top 15, W.I.N. Magazine ranks the 'Cats best two wrestlers at the 141 lb. and 197 lb. weight classes with wrestlers that are both atop the polls. Ryan Lang (North Royalton, Ohio/Lakewood St. Edward) and Dustin Fox (Galion, Ohio/Galion) both finished last season in the NCAA Championships, second and seventh, respectively, and finished first and third in the Big Ten Championships.

The Wildcats season begins on Nov. 3 at the Eastern Michigan Open in Ypsilanti, Mich.
