EVANSTON, Ill.-- Following its first two Big Ten road games of the year, Northwestern is back home to face No. 5 Iowa at 3 p.m. on Friday at Lakeside Field.

In its first two contests, the Wildcats fell 4-0 and 5-0 to Michigan State and Penn State. Despite the losses though, junior Alex Quinn (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) remains among the league leaders in offense. Emily Kyle (San Francisco, Calif./San Francisco University H.S.) is also still atop the Big Ten in stops per game.

The Wildcats stay at home for another contest on Sunday against Providence.

Welcome to the league...
Coach Kelly McCollum's first win against a Big Ten opponent came against Iowa in 2004. The 1-0 overtime win, however, did not count in the Big Ten standings as it was the first of two games between the two teams on the year.

You look familiar...
Northwestern and Iowa have matched up 66 times since 1977. The 66 meetings are by far the most games that Northwestern has played against any opponent. For the past 25 years, the two foes have hooked up at least twice in every season and have squared off in the Big Ten Tournament against each other nine times since 1986.

Fresh legs...
Over the past two games, two freshmen have gotten a chance to get into games and have shined in their appearances. Katie Lynch (Briarcliff, N.Y./Briarcliff) donned her pads and knocked away five shots in the second half of the game against Penn State last Saturday. Zoe Almquist (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) got her first chance against Michigan State and earned her first career start against Penn State the following game. Kendra Sirak (Dallas, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) has now played in six games for the 'Cats, while Sarah Marcincin (Bethlehem, Pa./Blair Academy) has played in six.

Top that...
With her two saves on Saturday, Kyle moved into fifth place on the all-time saves list at NU with 216 in her career. Kyle is 170 saves away from No. 4 on the list.

Playing the best...
Northwestern has played or has scheduled seven top 10 opponents this year. Today, NU takes on No. 5 Iowa for the first of two games against the Hawkeyes. Still to come, NU hosts No. 6 Michigan on Oct. 21.
