EVANSTON, Ill.-- Five Wildcats will participate in the annual Wildcat Invitational, held this weekend at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center at Northwestern.
The tournament consists of five flights of singles (A-E) and two doubles flights (A and B). In singles flights A-C, 16 players will compete in a tournament-style bracket. Flights D and E, however, will be round-robin tournaments with five players in each flight.
In Flight A, Nazlie Ghazal holds the seventh seed and takes on Alessandra Ferrazzi of Minnesota. Suzie Matzenauer and Maria Mosolova are also in the Flight A bracket.
Keri Robison holds the No. 1 seed in the Flight B bracket and is the lone Wildcat in the mix. Alexis Conill is playing against Jackie Sperling of Minnesota in Flight C.
Two pairs of Wildcat doubles partners are in the Doubles Flight A competing for a title against the bracket of 16. The No. 1 seeded Ghazal and Mosolova play Morgan Tuttle and Chelsea Nusslock in the round of 16, while Conill and Matzenauer take on fellow Badgers Elizabeth Carpenter and Jessica Seyferth.
This year's tournament championships will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7.
