Wildcats Gearing Up For 2007-08 Campaign

EVANSTON, Ill. -- With the start of the 2007-08 season quickly approaching, the Wildcats are continuing their preparations with regular practices in Welsh-Ryan Arena. Freshman center Amy Jaeschke (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) talked with NUSports.com after Thursday's practice.

Jaeschke, who stands at 6-5 and hails from nearby New Trier High School, was a member of the U19 Junior National Team that won the World Championships in 2006 and was a 2007 McDonald's All-American. She talked with NUSports.com about what elements she brings to this year's squad, the biggest difference between high school and college basketball and other topics.

The Wildcats will host an exhibition on November 1 and open their regular season at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, against Dayton in Albuquerque, N.M. The home schedule opens on November 25 against Loyola (Chicago).
