Wildcats Prepare to Defend Title at Lady Paladin

EVANSTON, Ill.--Northwestern finished last year's Lady Paladin Invitational atop the leaderboard, and seeks to defend its title starting Friday at the 37th annual Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
In 2007, the Wildcats have played in one tournament, finishing fifth out of 14 teams at the Lady Northern. In the tournament, the 'Cats were led by Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy), who finished fourth overall. Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) finished second on the team in a tie for 18th place.
NU dominated last year's Lady Paladin, leading by 10 shots heading into the final round before finishing 12 shots ahead of second-place finisher, Memphis. NU's Alice Kim also took home the individual title with a two-stroke win, while shooting a final-round 76 to finish at even par for the 54-hole tournament.
Kim's total of 216 was the second-lowest 54-hole tournament score in Wildcat history.
This year's 18-team field includes: Augusta State, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Furman, Kennesaw State, Louisville, Memphis, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, South Florida, TCU, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Winthrop and Wofford.
Teams will play 18 holes on each day of the three-day tournament at the par-72 course, which measures 6,284 yards.
