Wildcats Finish Third at Bradley Classic

EVANSTON, Ill.-- For the fourth time this season, junior Carly Brown (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead) led the way for Northwestern, helping the Wildcats to a third-place finish out of 17 schools at the 6k Bradley Classic on Friday in Peoria, Ill.
In the 'Cats first 6k meet of the year, Brown placed 11th overall with a time of 21:38, just seconds away from cracking the top 10. Finishing in 27th place overall, and second on the team, was Marie Grabinski (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) with a time of 22:05. Celia Franklin (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) turned in yet another strong performance on the day as well, coming in 30th place at 22:16.
The 'Cats third-place finish came on the heels of Missouri and Wichita State, who finished first and second, respectively. Kelly Johnson at 20:44 won the race individually at 20:44.
Bradley's Newman Golf Course serves as the site of the NCAA Regionals, which is run on Nov. 19. The 'Cats next meet is the Big Ten Championships on Oct. 28, in Columbus, Ohio.
