EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named freshman Kassia Shishkoff (Raleigh, N.C./St. David's School) of women's swimming and sophomore Craig Moore (Doylestown, Pa./Lawrenceville (N.J.) Prep) of men's basketball its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Shishkoff won four individual events with NCAA `B' cut times in NU's meet Saturday against No. 16 Tennessee. Her best effort came in the 1650 free, which she won with a time of 16:28.01 to break the 10-year-old Norris pool record by more than five seconds.
This performance in the mile came after she already had won the 500 free (4:48.78), 400 IM (4:22.95) and 200 free (1:49.43). She also swam a `B' cut with the 200 free relay, finishing in 1:33.34. The honor is the second of her career.
Moore knocked down six three-point field goals in Northwestern's game Wednesday at Penn State, scoring a team-best 18 points in the game. The performance marked the third time this season he has hit six or more three-pointers in a game.
He tied the school single-game record with seven three-pointers against Miami (Fla.) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge earlier this season. The honor is the second of Moore's season and career.
