EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's scheduled second game against Purdue Sunday afternoon has been canceled due to heavy rains and lightning. The two teams attempted to play the game, but got through just two innings before storms forced play to stop.
The game will not be made up. The Wildcats prevailed in game one, defeating the Boilermakers 4-0. Northwestern ends the day with a 29-10 overall record, 9-2 in the Big Ten.
The Wildcats return to action at 4 p.m. CT Tuesday, April 18, when they host Notre Dame in a game to be nationally televised on CSTV.
