Dan Brauer Named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Junior Dan Brauer (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) has been named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, marking the second-consecutive week the Wildcats have earned the honor.
Brauer, a junior left-hander, made his second start of 2006, pitching five complete innings in the Wildcats' 6-5, 10-inning win over Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday. He struck out seven and walked three, giving up three hits and one run. In 10 innings so far this season, Brauer has recorded 15 strikeouts.
Last week, junior Dan Schwartz (New York, N.Y./Northern Valley Regional) earned Pitcher of the Week honors while sophomore Antonio Mulé (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) picked up Player of the Week accolades.
