Northwestern Sweeps Oral Roberts, 6-0

TULSA, Okla. -- Northwestern's men's tennis team evened its record at 5-5 this season by sweeping Oral Roberts Sunday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The Wildcats swept all six singles matches, which were played first, and the doubles portion of the match was abandoned.
With the two teams playing the singles protion first Christian Tempke (Wentorf, Germany/Gymnasium Lohbrügge) notched a win at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Tyrone Hill.
Willy Lock (Lima, Peru/Markham College) then extended Northwestern's lead by taking his match versus Alexander Dargel at No. 2 singles 7-5, 6-3.
Juan Gomez (Mexico City, Mexico/South Florida), who has been on a roll at No. 3 singles as of late, topped Clemons Geercken 6-2, 6-1.
At the No. 4 spot, Alexey Evstratenkov (Moscow, Russia/Moscow International Gymnasia) won in straight sets versus Cuan Garquharson 6-3, 6-2.
Marc Dwyer (Peachtree City, Ga./University of Nebraska-Independent Study H.S.) kept the momentum with the Wildcats when he picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win over Patrick Guilliod at No. 5 singles.
Finally, captain Adam Schaechterle (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine) rounded out play for the Wildcats by rolling past Antotonio Salopek at No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-2.
With the win, Northwestern improves to 5-5 on the season.
Northwestern returns to action by opening Big Ten play at Wisconsin at noon Saturday, Feb. 18.
