On Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007 the Wildcat Women's Basketball team opens up its Big Ten home schedule vs. the Iowa Hawkeyes.  The game is the Purple Hair Dare

We have dared our Head Women's Basketball Coach Beth Combs to turn her hair purple!  If there are 3,000 presold tickets to the January 7th game, Coach Combs will dye her hair purple for the game!

The first 500 fans college age and under will receive a purple wig and fans who let us spray their hair (temporarily) purple for the game will receive a free burrito coupon compliments of Chipotle, while supplies last! Plus, all fans can meet the team at a postgame autograph session that day!

Special Note: Purple Hair Dare tickets will be on sale at the men's basketball game on Saturday, so help us reach our goal of 3,000 tickets by purchasing tickets before Sunday! Tickets will be on sale in the Ticket Tent outside of Welsh-Ryan Arena from 12:30 pm -- 2 pm on Saturday. Wildcat Football players will also be on hand to meet fans who stop by the Ticket Tent that day. Tickets will then be available for purchase at the Welsh-Ryan Arena Ticket Office from 2 pm - 4 pm.

We would love for you to be a part of the excitement, to show your support for Northwestern Women's Athletics and to reach out to the community all at the same time.  We are asking if you would like to purchase tickets for this great event to either give to people in your business as a "thank you" or to donate to underprivileged children in the community.  Now is your chance to help put a smile on their faces during the holiday season.

With your donation, you will receive:

  • Recognition at our men's and women's basketball games through public address announcements and with messages on the scoreboard.
  • Recognition through e-mail blasts and on the Northwestern Athletics website NUsports.com.

Or if you wish, the donation can stay strictly anonymous.  You will be able to donate to any organization of your choosing, or the Athletics Department can choose if you wish.  There are literally hundreds of youth organizations that would love to receive tickets to a game.

Group tickets (15 or more) are only $2 each.

Please contact Amy Potter at 847.491.6698 and/or Natalie Johnson at 847.467.0550 or call the Wildcat Ticket Office at 847.491.CATS for your tickets or for more information.
