EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Craig Moore (Doylestown, Pa./Lawrenceville (N.J.) Prep) and Melissa Miller (Bloomington, Minn./The Breck School) of the Wildcat basketball squads as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Moore put on one of the most prolific 3-point shooting performances in school history last Tuesday as the Wildcats knocked off the Miami Hurricanes 61-59 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Moore scored a career-high 24 points and tied a school record with seven 3-pointers.
He was 7-of-10 from long range and 8-off-11 (.727) from the field overall. He played 38 minutes and also chipped in with two assists and a steal as the Wildcats improved to 4-2. This is Moore's first Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor.
Miller notched double-doubles in wins over UIC and Princeton. Miller recorded NU's first double-double of the season Wednesday night against UIC with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
The junior scored 10 points and pulled down 12 boards en route to her second double-double in as many games in Friday's win over Princeton. This is Miller's first Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor.
