EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern heads to Minneapolis Saturday for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships hosted by the University of Minnesota. The 6K women's race, held at the UM Les Bolstad Golf Course, begins at 11 a.m. Sophomores Allison King (Potomac, Md./Winston Churhill) and Hilary Forman (Prairie Village, Kan./Pembroke) have been the top-two finishers for the 'Cats the last three races.

Head coach Amy Tush will send her top-seven runners from the Big Ten Championships to compete at the 6K event. King and Forman were followed by fellow sophomore Carly Brown (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead), who finished third for the 'Cats after running fourth for Northwestern at the Pre-National Invitational.

Freshman Britta Helwig (Chicago, Ill./Luther North) ran fourth for the Wildcats at the Big Ten Championships and is looking to cap off an impressive freshman campaign. Helwig, along with Paulina Garcia (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) have been among Northwestern's top runners all season.

Junior Celia Franklin (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier), who started 2006 with a win at the Chuck Carroll Invitational and led the 'Cats to a team title at the Toledo Invitational, will also run this weekend after finishing fifth for the Wildcats at the Big Ten Championships. The lineup will be rounded out by another freshman, Diana Burk (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac), who has steadily improved in her freshman season.
