EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named senior Matt Grevers (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) of men's swimming and senior A.J. Glasauer (Freiburg, Germany/Theodor-Heuss) of women's basketball as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Grevers broke six pool, two Northwestern and one Big Ten Conference record and was named Swimmer of the Meet in the Wildcats' first-place finish in their own four-team, three-day TYR Invitational over the weekend.
Collectively, Grevers swam in and won nine events, comprised of four individual events and five relays, earning an NCAA cut time in every single one. He swam two leadoff legs in those relays, earning 'A' cut times and one pool record with those two swims. This is Grevers' 12th Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week Honor.
Glasauer scored a game-high 22 points in Northwestern's 80-51 win over Miami (Ohio) Friday night. Glasauer went 9-of-16 from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range.
With the victory, the Wildcats improved to 3-0 on the season, the program's best start since the 1995-96 campaign. This is Glasauer's second Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honor.
