EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named sophomore Geoff Fallon (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade) from men's soccer and senior Alice Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) from women's golf as its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Fallon scored a goal and registered an assist on Wednesday in Northwestern's 4-2 win over Valparaiso. Fallon scored the third goal of the game, the game-winner, in the 70th minute and served up an assist, the first of his career, on NU's fourth goal of the game in the 75th minute.
He has two goals and one assist on the season.
Kim won her second collegiate tournament of 2006, shooting the second-best 54-hole score in Northwestern history (70-70-76=216) and finished first among a 90-player field at the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenvile, S.C. Kim posted 2-under 70's on the first two days before finishing with a 4-over 76 for the third round.
Her win helped Northwestern place first among a field of 17 tournament teams.
