EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Brad North (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) of men's soccer and Chelsy Hyser (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

North closed out his career at home in style with his game-winning goal in the 109th minute of the game-the final minute of double overtime-to give the Wildcats a 1-0 win over No. 24 Northern Illinois Friday afternoon in Evanston. North took three shots on the afternoon and made good on a Geoff Fallon serve from the left wing to defeat the Huskies.

Hyser lit up Michigan at the net in a 3-2 NU win on Saturday, blocking a Northwestern single-match record 15 attacks with two solo blocks and 13 block assists. The record broke the previous mark of 14 set twice by Erika Lange, and tied the eighth-best total in Big Ten history. Hyser's 15 blocks were the most in the conference since Oct. 7, 2000, when Penn State's Robyn Guokas also had 15 against the Wolverines.
