CHICAGO - Wildcat Sports Marketing, the multimedia rights holder for Northwestern University Athletics, will offer one unpaid, graduate internship position to a qualified student in the Masters of Arts in Sports Administration program (MSA). This new internship stems from the ongoing partnership between the School of Continuing Studies and Northwestern University's Department of Athletics.

"We at Wildcat Sports Marketing are very excited to partner with Northwestern Athletics and the School of Continuing Studies for further the education of a MSA student," said Amy Potter, general manager of Wildcat Sports Marketing. "This opportunity will provide the graduate intern with first-hand knowledge of the industry and work experience that will help his or her sports marketing career."

The MSA degree, administered by the School of Continuing Studies is a part-time, evening program designed for working professionals seeking careers in the sports industry, including professional and collegiate sports and ancillary business.

"The MSA program contributes to a new level of professionalism in the sports industry through academics," said Cary Nathenson, assistant dean of graduate programs with the School of Continuing Studies. Mark Murphy, Northwestern athletics director, added "Northwestern is pleased with the relationship we have forged with CBS Collegiate Sports Properties. Pairing one of our MSA students with their professional staff will give him or her fantastic job training from those who know the sports industry best."

The graduate intern will work on a special project as well as working on day-to-day marketing and corporate sponsorship responsibilities. As part of the internship, the graduate student will be able to observe one additional CBS Collegiate Sports property for an extended learning experience. The internship will last for approximately six months.

MSA students who wish to be considered for this internship should send a résumé and cover letter to Nicole Fitzwater, marketing manager at CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, Nicole.Fitzwater@cbscsp.com. All résumés will be evaluated and a phone interview will be conducted with the top 10 students.
