EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Tyrell Sutton (Akron Ohio/Archbishop Hoban) of football and Lindsay Anderson (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) of volleyball its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Sutton notched the fourth-best rushing day of his young career, totaling 172 yards on 21 carries (8.2 ypc) in the Wildcats' 41-38 loss to Michigan State. With his performance, he eclipsed the 2,000-yard rushing mile- stone and moved into seventh place on NU's all-time rushing list.
He now has 2,133 career yards and is averaging 6.0 yards per carry for his career. Sutton also added 20 receiving yards, giving him 192 all-pur- pose yards for the game.
Anderson had a match-best 21 kills Friday in Northwestern's 3-1 win at Indiana, adding 12 digs for her team-leading ninth double-double of the season. She also had a season-high four assists in the match.
On Saturday at No. 14 Purdue, Anderson had a team-best 14 kills to give her 957 on her career, just 43 away from becoming the 17th member of Northwestern's 1,000-kill club.
