EVANSTON, Ill. -- The National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) ranked Northwestern sixth among NCAA Division I institutions in its third-annual Collegiate Power Rankings.
The rankings are calculated by averaging each school's U.S. News & World Report ranking, the U.S. Sports Academy Director's Cup rank and the student-athlete graduation rate of each school.
Northwestern ranked 11th in the U.S. News & World Report ratings, 29th in the final Director's Cup standings and ninth in Division I student-athlete graduation rates.
NU is the highest-ranked Big Ten school, followed by Penn State at No. 15. Duke rated as No. 1, while Stanford, Princeton, Harvard and Notre Dame rounded out the top five.
Founded in 2000, the NCSA matches college coaches with student-athletes by building a lasting relationship and empowering student-athletes to achieve the best education possible. The NCSA Power Rankings provide data that allows prospective student-athletes and parents to evaluate the particular strengths of universities based on academic and athletic factors, as well as student-athlete graduation rates.
