Northwestern Earns Fifth Seed In NCAA Tournament

EVANSTON, Ill. - For the fifth time in as many years, Northwestern will compete in the NCAA Regional Championship in the friendly comforts of home. The Wildcats will host Iowa, Notre Dame and Valparaiso next weekend, Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14 at Vandy Christie Tennis Center.
Northwestern will kick off the regionals against the Crusaders of Valparaiso (15-4), who will be enjoying their first-ever tournament bid. Valpo enters the tournament having won its last 12 matches of the season.
In the overall field of 64 teams that make the NCAA Tournament, Northwestern accepted the fifth seed -- the highest nod in head coach Claire Pollard's seven-year tenure.
