EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern junior attack Lindsey Munday was named American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week. This is the second time she has been honored this season.
Munday was also honored by womenslacrosse.com, earning a spot on the website's National Honor Roll for the week.
Munday picked up the award -- the second in a row for a Wildcat player -- by scoring a combined 17 points in ALC wins over Penn State and Davidson last weekend. Munday scored six goals and dished out 11 assists (5 vs. Penn State, 6 vs. Davidson).
In the process, Munday became the program's single-season leader for assists, with 39. That record includes the previous era of lacrosse at Northwestern, from 1982-92. Munday has a team-high 77 points -- more than she scored her first two seasons combined -- which a modern single-season record.
Munday is one of three Northwestern women who are on the 18-woman list for the Tewaaraton Trophy, given at the end of the season to the outstanding college lacrosse player in the country.
Northwestern remains No. 1 in the nation with a perfect 14-0 record. The Wildcats are at No. 11 Johns Hopkins Friday night.
