Wildcat Women's Sport Weekend Starts Friday

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Spring 2005 Wildcat Women's Sport Weekend, sponsored by the N Club and Center Court, begins this Friday (April 15) and continues through Tuesday (April 19). This spring, Northwestern celebrates the talent of its three nationally ranked women's sports teams with several events. The weekend schedule is as follows:
Friday, April 15
#1 Lacrosse vs. Penn State, 4 p.m.
Saturday, April 16
#3 Women's Tennis vs. Purdue, 11 a.m.
Sunday, April 17
#3 Women's Tennis vs. Illinois, 11 a.m. (Senior Day)
Mini-clinic following the match ... see info below!
#1 Lacrosse vs. Davidson, Noon (Senior Day)
Tuesday, April 19
#17 Softball vs. Bradley, 3 p.m. (Doubleheader)
*Lacrosse plays at the Leonard B. Thomas Athletic Complex.
*Women's Tennis plays at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center (in event of rain matches are moved to Combe Indoor Tennis Center).
*Softball plays at Sharon J. Drysdale Field.
Following the women's tennis match on Sunday, a free mini-clinic with the players and coaches will take place for youngsters 8th grade and under. Learn some of the skills and do some of the drills that the Northwestern players practice every day. Young fans will get to volley with their favorite players, and after the clinic is over ... PIZZA PARTY! In addition, all clinic participants will receive a Wildcat Women's Sport Weekend t-shirt. To RSVP for the tennis clinic, call (847) 491-7327.
Admission is free for all events. There will be t-shirt giveaways and $1 Vienna Beef hot dogs at all events where concessions are available. This is a weekend Wildcat fans don't want to miss!
