EVANSTON, Ill. - Sophomore Vince Scott (Phoenix, Ariz./Greenway) and freshman Andrea Hupman (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) have been named Northwestern's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Scott was the catalyst in Northwestern's 54-39 win over Penn State Saturday. He scored 13 points--one shy of a career high--and matched career bests with six rebounds and four steals in 35 minutes of play. He also knocked down three three-pointers, and enters this week leading the Big Ten in three-point field-goal percentage (.571). In NU's Monday win over nonconference Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Scott had three assists and four more steals.
Hupman registered two NCAA automatic qualifying times in the 100 and 200 free events, finishing second in both at the Big Ten Championships. Her time of 1:46.73 in the 200 set a school record, while her mark of 49.15 in the 100 free was the second-fastest time in school history. She was named second-team All-Big Ten.
