EVANSTON, Ill. - Rack up three more victories for the No. 21 ranked Wildcats. Northwestern defeated UNC-Greensboro, Drexel and Buffalo by an average of 15 points at the Buckeye Duals to improve to 6-0 in dual competition.
Redshirt freshman Ryan Lang (North Royalton, Ohio/Lakewood St. Edward) set the tone for the 'Cats again, earning a technical fall at 1:04 in NU's opening match against UNC-Greensboro. The `Cats defeated the Spartans 27-12.
The `Cats defeated Drexel 24-12 and Buffalo 29-9.
Lang won his subsequent matches against the Dragons and the Bulls, improving his individual dual record to 6-0 on the year.
Junior Matt Delguyd (Mayfield Heights, Ohio/Mayfield), and redshirt freshman Jake Herbert (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) also went 3-0 on the day, each improving to 6-0 on the year. Sophomore Nick Hayes (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Lewis Central) scored three wins for NU as well.
Freshmen Greg Hagel (Linwood, N.J./Blair Academy) and Mike Tamillow (Oak Park, Ill./Fenwick), junior Daniel Quintela (St. Paul, Minnesota/Highland Park), senior Mike Kimberlin (Bradley, Ill./Bishop Martin McNamara) all went 2-1 on the day.
