Fall Season Continues for Wildcats with All-American Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern travels to Pacific Palisades, Calif. this weekend to compete in this year's ITA All-American Championship. The Wildcats will attempt to build on a strong showing at the Rice Invitational last weekend, highlighted by freshman Audra Cohen (Ft. Lauderdale) going impressive 4-0 in singles play.
Junior Jamie Peisel (Savannah, Ga./Savannah Country Day), senior Vladea RalucaValentina (Tiffin, Iowa/Minnesota) junior Cristelle Grier (Epsom, England/Putney) and sophomore Alexis Prousis (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) will all compete in the tournament.
The 128-player prequalifying tournament starts Friday, Oct. 2 at UCLA and four players and doubles teams will advance from there to the 64-player qualifying tournament that begins on Tuesday, Oct. 5. From there, eight players and four doubles teams will advance to the main draw, which begins Thursday, Oct. 7, with finals being played on Sunday, Oct. 10.
The famous Riviera Tennis Club will continue to host the event as it has since 1988.
