Sophomore Brad North (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) and freshman Kelsey Hans (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville) have been named Northwestern's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

North scored both goals in Northwestern's 2-1 victory over Eastern Illinois Sunday at Vanderbilt's Puma Soccer Classic. His first goal came just six seconds before the half, giving NU a 1-0 lead and some momentum heading into the break. He then netted the match-winner on a header in the 50th minute. North's efforts earned him tournament MVP honors and helped the Wildcats to their third consecutive tournament championship. North was also named the Big Ten's Offensive Player of the Week.

Hans had three goals this weekend for the Wildcat women's soccer team--one at Michigan, two at Michigan State -- giving her eight in as many collegiate matches. With 11 matches still left in the season, Hans has already tied the program record for goals scored by a freshman in a season; she shares the mark with Christie Molitor, who had eight goals in 1996.
