"All of a sudden we had a bunch of students back who have fun, paint their bodies up and get after it. The students get fired up, and it was great to have them back. It gave us some juice, and the team really appreciated it. Shoot, we're not even in school yet and we had more than 3,000 students show up, and that makes a difference. It helps."
-- NU Football Coach Randy Walker, Chicago Tribune (9/20/04)

Dear Northwestern Students,

There is not a more unique and important element of a college athletic venue than a loyal, loud, and passionate student section. When coupled with good sportsmanship, the intensity and support that students demonstrate for their fellow students create a special home court and home field advantage.

Two years ago, in an effort to promote community-building among the Northwestern student body, the Associated Student Government called upon the Northwestern University Administration and Northwestern Athletics to add a student athletic event fee to the undergraduate student tuition to allow every full-time undergraduate student the opportunity to attend all regular-season Wildcat home football and men's basketball game at no additional cost. All other regular-season Northwestern intercollegiate sporting events remain free of charge to Northwestern students. The Board of Trustees approved the plan and called on Athletics to implement it. The initial policies and procedures for this implementation are outlined below.

We hope you take advantage of this great deal for Northwestern students and attend as many events as possible in the coming academic year. They really are a great way to build community at Northwestern University. Also be sure to check out NUsports.com for the latest student promotions from Northwestern Athletics. If general public seating for football and men's basketball is sold out and student tickets remain, tickets will be released for public sale beginning 15 minutes before kickoff for football and 15 minutes before tip-off for men's basketball. Students will continue to be admitted on an availability basis until seating is exhausted. *NU Athletics reserves the right to enforce reserved seating if crowd control or safety issues dictate the necessity.

2007-08 Graduate Students, Part-time Students and Student Spouse Tickets
All graduate (full and part-time), part-time students and spouses of students (graduate and undergraduate) may purchase tickets for a deeply discounted price! That's only $103 for all seven home games! (Sorry, students are limited to four tickets per game for use by the student and immediate family).

Tickets may be purchased on a season or individual game basis and will be located in Sections 120 -121. The price for a ticket to the Northeastern, Nevada or Duke game is $15 and a ticket to a Big Ten game is $25. Unfortunately season and individual game tickets will not be seated together. Discounted tickets must be purchased in advance; these rates are NOT AVAILABLE ON THE DAY OF THE GAME. We regret telephone orders cannot be accepted.
