'Cats Choose Captains for 2004

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named seniors Morgan Kuhn (Chesterfield, Mo./Lafayette) and Candice Cooper (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) captains for the upcoming 2004 season.
Cooper, a second-team All-Big Ten and first-team NFHCA All-Midwest Region selection last year, led the Wildcats with eight goals and 19 points. She also earned a Big Ten Player of the Week nod last season.
Kuhn has been an Academic All-Big Ten selection. The back has started games in all three of her previous seasons at Northwestern.
"The experiences these two have been through in the last three years in rebuilding the program puts them into position to lead us to what is next," NU head coach Kelly McCollum said. "They are in a unique situation as the only seniors on the team."
The Wildcats begin their spring schedule April 3 at home for the Purple and White game.
