EVANSTON, Ill.--Northwestern has named Dan Brauer (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) and Kristen Kjellman (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Brauer, a sophomore, struck out a career-high 13 batters, including nine of the first 12, and walked none against Wright State on Sunday in NU's first shutout of the season. The 13 strikeouts represent the most thrown in a game by a Wildcat pitcher.

Brauer, in improving to 2-1 this year, also gave up just five hits and did not allow the Raiders in scoring position until the sixth inning.

Kjellman was the offensive catalyst in 14th-ranked Northwestern's win over Colgate Saturday. She scored three goals and added three assists, figuring in all but one of the Wildcats' goals in the 7-5 victory.

The freshman's final two assists came on Ann Elliott's first two collegiate goals, which snapped a 5-5 tie in the game and allowed NU to escape its home opener with the win.
