COLUMBUS, Ohio--It was another tough road match for Northwestern's wrestling team.

Two days after losing to Penn State 42-3, the Wildcats were defeated by No. 19 Ohio State 40-3 in falling to 9-7 overall, 0-6 in the Big Ten.

The Buckeyes (7-7, 3-2) began the match by winning the first five bouts and jumping to a 24-0 lead. Top-ranked Tommy Rowlands pounded out a 23-7 technical fall over Michael Little (El Reno, Okla./El Reno) at heavyweight during the run.

Mike Kimberlin (Bradley, Ill./Bishop Martin McNamara) ended the drought for NU with his 4-1 decision over Ryan Rhodes at 157 lbs. The victory, unfortunately, was the only one for the Wildcats, as Ohio State swept the remaining bouts.

One of the losses for Northwestern came at 165 lbs., which saw Nick Hayes (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Lewis Central) drop a 9-2 decision to John Clark; Hayes consequently could not stay perfect in the conference (5-1).

The Wildcats have the week off and then hit the road again, facing Wisconsin at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 in Madison, Wis., before returning home to play host to Michigan at 2 p.m. Feb. 22.
