EVANSTON, Ill. - The streak stops at 20. After a marvelous start to her collegiate career at Northwestern, freshman Audra Cohen (Plantation, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) showed some signs of mortality in her second-round loss on day two of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Indoor Championships Friday. Junior Cristelle Grier (Epsom, England/Putney) won her second-round match, but fell in the round of 16 to Suzi Babos of California 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Cohen had won 20-0 straight singles matches coming into her duel with Nicolle Leimbach of USC and looked to be on her way to 21 straight wins after beating Leimbach in the opening set 6-3. Leimbach rallied though, winning the next two sets 7-5, 6-4 to take the match.

Grier started her day off by defeating Erin Burdette of Stanford in straight sets 7-6, 6-3. Much like Cohen, Grier began her third-round match in familiar fashion, winning 6-3. She stumbled in rounds two and three though, eventually losing the match.

Cohen's record now stands at 20-1, while Grier -- the No. 1 ranked player in the country -- is 14-4.

The duo did compose themselves to win their doubles match against Zuzanna Cerna and Daniella Covella of Baylor 8-3. They will next face Daniela Bercek and Riza Zalameda of UCLA in the semifinals Saturday, Nov. 6.
