EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern Women's Cross Country Head Coach Amy Tush announced the signing of two women to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period.

Hilary Forman (Prairie Village, Kan./Pembroke) and Megan Young (Rochester Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) will matriculate at Northwestern next year and be eligible to run for the Wildcats in the fall of 2005.

"I am very excited with what Hilary and Megan will bring to the program," said Tush. "They are both very talented runners and have seen success in high school; I am looking forward in taking them to the next level.

"Hilary brings a winning attitude--she was the Missouri state champion in cross country for the second time in her career this fall," continued Tush. "Megan, meanwhile, has had a very successful soccer background, and as a result has never focused completely on running. She has a lot of untapped potential. I look for both of these girls to make an impact their freshman year, and I am very excited to see how each of them fit into our team."

Northwestern--which ran at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in 2002--recently completed its 2004 season and loses three scorers from this year's championship meets to graduation: Diana Hossfeld (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona Del Mar), Kyna Forkins (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) and Lesley Meade (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline).
