EVANSTON, Ill. -- Junior Brad Napper (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit College Prep) of men's soccer and sophomore Leanne Dumais (Ventura, Calif./Buena) of women's swimming and diving have been named Northwestern's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Napper scored the overtime, match-winning goal Sunday in NU's 2-1 victory over Big Ten foe Michigan. The win gave the Wildcats their fourth consecutive win.
On Wednesday with Northwestern trailing Loyola, 1-0, in the second half, Napper found the back of the net to tie the score at 1-1 in a match NU would eventually win, 2-1. Napper currently ranks second on the team with six goals from his central defender position.
Dumais started her season on a strong note, winning the three-meter diving competition and placing second in the one-meter event at the five-team UIC Diving Invitational Sunday.
On Friday, she won both diving events in Northwestern's season-opening dual meet with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. As a freshman last season, Dumais participated in the NCAA Zone competition, narrowly missing a trip the NCAA Championships.
