EVANSTON, Ill. - Freshman Alexis Conill (Fort Lauderdale, Fla/Cardinal Gibbons) won her first two matches in the qualifying rounds of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships Thursday, Oct. 21. She is set to compete in a doubles match with senior Kristi Roemer (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont) at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22.

Conill defeated Traci Litscher of Wisconsin-Milwaukee 6-0, 6-1 in the opening round of 32. She later beat Alaina Griffin of Butler 7-5, 6-0.

Roemer also competed in singles action on Thursday, but fell to Marina Bugaenco of host school Minnesota 6-2, 7-5, 6-4.
